Course Work Review
The course work review service is currently unavailable.
Due to certification exam application deadlines, CLC does not conduct Course Work Reviews during the months of March, April, August, or September. For information on the Course Work Review process see below and please check back later to access this function.
Although we will not be processing any course work applications until May 1st, you may submit a paper application and mail it to our Rockville office with a check for $35 and copies of your unofficial transcripts. We will cash your check immediately and will hold your application for review in May. Applications that are received this month will be numbered, and subsequently reviewed, in the ordered in which we received them once we re-open the course work review process. If you prefer to apply on-line, you may wait until May 1st, apply through our website and send your unofficial transcripts via fax, mail, or e-mail. Most internship sites are aware of our policy of closing the course work review process in the months of August, September, March, and April and you may refer them to this page if the site needs further evidence. It will be up to your internship site if/how this potential delay might affect your candidacy for the position.
Course Work Review
If, after reviewing the Eligibility Requirements, you are unsure if the course work on your transcript will be accepted to establish eligibility for the Child Life Professional Certification Examination, you have the option to request a course work review. CLC will review up to 15 completed courses as reported on your submitted transcripts to determine if specified courses fulfill the eligibility requirements.
Course Work Review Fee: $35.00 U.S. (non-refundable)
PLEASE NOTE:
- No course work reviews will be conducted during March, April, August or September due to exam application review being done during these months
- Transcripts submitted for this purpose cannot be used for documentation for your exam application
- The course work review fee is non-refundable and cannot be applied to the examination fee
Apply Online
If you have already established a user profile with CLC, please log in before you begin the application process, so that any information we have on file in our database (such as contact information) will be automatically imported into your online course work review application. Once you have logged in, you can begin the application process. Follow the on-screen directions to submit your application and payment. CLC Online accepts Visa or MasterCard (if you must pay by check, please submit a paper application).
You will be asked to provide the following information for up to 15 courses:
- Institution name
- Department information (e.g. PSYCH 101)
- Course title
- Term (e.g. Spring, Fall, etc.)
- Year taken
NOTE: You must submit under separate cover a copy of your transcript(s) from the school(s) where the courses were taken. Transcripts do not have to be official for the course work review service. You may send them by mail, fax or email to the address listed at the bottom of this page.
