Alison Heron

Alison E. Heron, MBA, CAE, Chief Executive Officer

Alison E. Heron, MBA, CAE serves as the Chief Executive Officer and is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) with 27 years of diverse association sector experience and 21 years in leadership roles. Alison holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Strayer University. She is data-driven and a high-achieving visionary leader committed to advancing an organization’s strategic goals through diversity, equity and inclusion strategies, transformational leadership, trend/data analysis, and commitment to high-level customer service interaction.  

Before joining ACLP, she served as the Senior Director of Membership and Customer Relations at the Water Environment Federation. Prior to WEF, she served as the Senior Director of Membership and Units at the Council for Exceptional Children. Alison is an active member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and a 2008-2009 ASAE Diversity Executive Leadership Scholar.  

She is the proud mother of two thriving sons in college and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling by planes, trains and automobiles and considers herself a life-long learner.

Bailey Kasten


Bailey Kasten, CAE, Chief Operating Officer

Bailey serves as the Chief Operating Officer, a role in which she works to align resources and strategic initiatives to reach ACLP's strategic goals. She works with staff, volunteers, vendors and strategic partners to ensure the successful implementation of the Association’s goals and objectives. Bailey is committed to ensuring the organization reflects the strength, professionalism, creativity, and compassion of the child life community we serve, support, and champion. She is a proud graduate of American University in Washington, DC, and has over 13 years of association management experience. Bailey is the proud mother of two young children and the grateful recipient of child life services herself. When not at work, you can find her either playing outside with the kids, working in her beloved gardens, or helping with her family business, a chocolate company.

Mary Bean


Mary Bean, Executive Assistant

Mary serves as ACLP’s Executive Assistant.  She works closely with all staff members on different projects, such as database operations, certification, professional development, and conference.  She has an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Office Technologies and has worked in the professional association field for nine years. Mary is the proud mom of two adult children.  She loves working on crafts, crocheting, and relaxing on the beach with a good book.

Ame Enright


Ame Enright, Director of Certification

As Director of Certification, Ame is responsible for the administration of the Child Life Professional Certification Program.  Ame joined the child life team in 2006 after transitioning from 10 years of full time parenting her two awesome children. Laughter, creativity, and kindness are important family values in the Enright household.  Ame graduated from Canisius College of Buffalo, NY, with a degree in Marketing. She also holds a degree in Merchandising from the Fashion Institute of Technology of New York, NY, and earned the Institute for Credentialing Excellence’s Credentialing Specialist Certificate in 2017.

Alex Rodriguez


Alex Rodriguez, Certification Coordinator

Alex serves as ACLP’s certification/recertification coordinator, helping to manage the administrative tasks of the certification and recertification process. His previous work experience is in the non-profit arena, and he has worked for many associations in a variety of capacities. Alex’s experience includes certification and recertification administration, meeting planning, database management, and report development. Before joining ACLP, he worked for associations including North American Technician Excellence (NATE), National Contract Management Association (NCMA),and Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI). Alex’s favorite sports are soccer and football, and he is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Meagan Roloff


Meagan Roloff, MA, CCLS, CAE, Director of Member Engagement & Partnerships

Meagan is ACLP’s Director of Member Engagement & Partnerships. Her goal is to ensure ACLP membership meets the evolving needs of child life specialists across their careers. She also manages ACLP’s grant-funded initiatives and partnerships with external organizations. Meagan serves as staff liaison to a variety of ACLP committees. Meagan earned her bachelor's degree in Human Development/Family Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her master's degree in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College. Prior to joining the ACLP staff, Meagan worked as a child life specialist in both hospital and community-based settings. Meagan is proud to be both a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) and a Certified Association Executive (CAE).

Barb James


Barb James, Manager of Membership and Program Support

As Manager of Membership and Program Support, Barb handles membership questions and database duties.  Barb has worked in the professional association field for more than eight years, and she worked for AER (The Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired) for almost 8 years before she moved to ACLP. Barb is also a proud Navy wife who has lived all over the country and the world. Barb has three adult children ages 26, 24 and 23 and a precious grandson. She likes to scrapbook, go wine tasting at local wineries, and spend time with her grandson.

Camille Fields, Coordinator of Member Inclusion

Camille is the Coordinator of Member Inclusion for ACLP. In this role she supports all ACLP members with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and expanding this framework. Prior to joining ACLP, Camille has experience working with children focusing on social and emotional development, trauma-informed practices, and program and data analysis focused on creating a healthier, more equitable community for all. Camille is an avid Cleveland sports fan.

Ramona Spencer


Ramona Spencer, Director of Professional Development

In collaboration with ACLP staff and volunteer leaders, Ramona manages the planning and implementation of the ACLP Annual Conference. Ramona has many years of meeting planning experience. Prior to joining ACLP, she worked in a series of meeting planning positions, first as a corporate meeting planner for DaimlerChrysler, then for the Engineering Society of Detroit. She also has experience managing a wide range of government conferences and events. Ramona has a bachelor's degree in Communication from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

Keri O'Keefe, Manager of Publications

As Manager of Publications, Keri provides support and administration to the ACLP Bulletin and The Journal of Child Life. Prior to joining ACLP, Keri’s experience has been in teaching high school science and working at non-profits specializing in back-end operations and marketing. Keri earned her bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Minnesota State University. She enjoys spending time outdoors through camping, running, biking, and travel.

Emily Eagon


Emily Eagon, Director of Online Education

As the Director of Online Education, Emily leads in developing ACLP's educational content through our Online Learning Portal. Emily continues to support the operations of our endorsement and accreditation programs and serves as staff liaison to various ACLP committees. Emily’s prior experience includes teaching high school and kindergarten and working in human resources at an education advocacy non-profit. She holds degrees from the University of Minnesota and Pace University and is a huge Chicago Bulls fan.

Yvonne Kassimatis


Yvonne Kassimatis, Director of Marketing & Communications

As the Director of Marketing & Communications Yvonne aligns the organization-wide branding and marketing communications to the strategic plan. She has extensive experience in marketing communications, creative services, advertising, publications, and account management. Yvonne has served in director-level roles for a variety of non-profit and for-profit organizations including the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), American Society for Training & Development (ASTD), Sloan’s Auction Galleries, and Doubleday Book & Music Clubs. She earned her BFA in Communication Design from Parsons School of Design in NYC. Yvonne has flown in a glider, canoed through whitewater, hiked in a rain forest, piloted a cigarette boat, and likes to keep her well-worn Timberlands in the car never knowing when an inviting detour will entice her to stray ‘outside the lines’ for a spontaneous adventure.

Leah Bryce


Leah Bryce, Coordinator of Digital Marketing & Communications

As Coordinator of Digital Marketing & Communications, Leah aids in expanding ACLP's online presence by administering duties such as social media management, content development, and media outreach. Leah comes to ACLP with 10 years of digital marketing experience. She worked as a consultant, a social media manager within a marketing agency, has worked in higher education marketing, and association and nonprofit digital marketing and community engagement. She holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University. Leah, her husband Glenn, and kids, live on a farm in Maryland where they have horses, pet pigs, chickens, cats, and dogs. She spends most of her free time rescuing and fostering mini pigs, trail riding with her horse, Thornton, and taking her kids and their horses to horse shows.
