The 2021 Volunteer Selection Process is Open

At the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP), our progress is fueled by the vision of our leaders and by the hard work and commitment of a dedicated network of volunteers. Each year, we provide members with an opportunity to apply for volunteer positions on committees that keep our organization relevant and strong. Participating on a committee or work group is a great way to enhance your resume, expand your professional network, and hone leadership skills.

Be a part of shaping the future of child life by becoming a volunteer. This year marks the beginning of new strategic planning. It is a wonderful opportunity to be in a leadership role during this important planning year.

We are currently accepting Volunteer Interest Forms (VIFs) for most committees and working groups. Please take a moment to review the VIF Guide to learn more about the groups seeking recruits and for application instructions. The Volunteer Interest Form will remain available until March 24.

For more information about our current committees, please see the Committees and Working Groups page.

How Can I Get Involved?

All current Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP) members are eligible to volunteer.
Committee and work group members typically serve a two-year term.

Submitting a Volunteer Interest Form (VIF) is the first step of the volunteer selection process.
ACLP members may apply for up to 3 committees/task forces as well as the Membership Advisory Group and/or Social Ambassadors. The application consists of demographic information and group-specific questions that will help committee leaders assess your knowledge and skills relevant to their work. You may access the online application through a link in the VIF Guide.

Recognizing that completing online forms may be a barrier for some members, we're providing a word version of the VIF that should work with screen reader and dictation software. A link to the word version can be found on the Process Overview page in the VIF Guide.

If you are unable to commit the time needed to serve as a volunteer on a committee but would like to contribute your unique skills, consider becoming a participant of the Membership Advisory Group (MAG) or an ACLP Social Ambassador.

Membership Advisory Group (MAG)
The Membership Advisory Group (MAG) shares their feedback and expertise and operates as a focus group with the ACLP Staff and Board of Directors. The MAG will be asked for specific feedback on new member programs and services, communication initiatives, and other requests as needed. The MAG will consist of members representing different segments of the overall ACLP membership. Participating in the Membership Advisory Group does not qualify for PDUs.

ACLP Social Ambassadors
ACLP Social Ambassadors will be responsible for committing to share, promote, like, and/or comment on ACLP social media posts at least once a week. Social Ambassadors will be added to an email list for special social media volunteer opportunities and will receive recognition for their volunteer work. Participating as a Social Ambassador does not qualify for PDUs. (Time commitment is about 15-30 minutes per week for interaction with ACLP social media)
