Career Milestones

Pamela Norcross

Pamela received her Ph.D. in Human Development Family Studies from the University of North Carolina in May 2019. She was subsequently hired for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Child Development at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Karin Rourke

Karin joined the Western Michigan University Department of Family and Consumer Sciences as a full-time instructor in Fall 2019. Karin will help coordinate the Child Life master's degree program and advise child life graduate students.

Joan Turner

Dr. Joan Turner was promoted to Full Professor of Child  and Youth Study at Mount Saint Vincent University on July 1, 2019.



Joan Turner

Dr. Joan Turner presented twice at the 2019 European Early Childhood Education Research Association conference in Greece. She presented "Shouldn't we be doing something more important than playing?" and co-presented "Affordances of wooden planks invite children's movement during outdoor play."


Joan Turner

Dr. Joan Turner wrote a chapter entitled "Children and Young People in Radiology" in the new Advanced Practice and Leadership in Radiology Nursing textbook. This textbook has been endorsed by the Association for Radiologic & Imaging Nursing (ARIN).
