Alison Chrisler, PhD, CCLS

Dr. Alison Chrisler currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at American University. Dr. Chrisler's child life experience included working in outpatient surgery at CS Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan and running a one-person child life program at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland. She earned her PhD at Michigan State University in Human Development and Family Studies. Dr. Chrisler's research and evaluation experience focuses on working with children, youth, and families that are often overlooked, with a special emphasis on hospitalized children, youth experiencing homelessness, and LGBTQ youth. For almost 10 years, she has served on a number of ACLP committees including the Conference Host Committee and the Scientific Advancement of Professional Subcommittees (formerly known as the Research and Scholarship Committee). 

Jennifer Staab, MS, CCLS  

Associate Editor

Jennifer Staab currently works at Children’s Hospital Colorado as a Manager and Research and Quality Improvement Specialist for the Child Life Department. Jennifer’s clinical experience included working in the Division of Developmental and Behavior Pediatrics and the Adaptive Care Team at Cincinnati Children’s and the ambulatory clinics at Children’s Hospital Colorado before moving into leadership. She earned a Masters at Middle Tennessee State University in Human Development and Family Studies. Her research interests include identifying the factors associated with children experiencing elevated distress in the healthcare setting and evaluating the efficacy of child life services. Jennifer has served as on several of ACLP committees and task forces including the Evidenced-Based Practice Committee, Scientific Advancement of Professional Subcommittees, and the Staffing Analytics Task Force.
