What is an Internship Supervisor?

A (minimum) 600-hour clinical internship is required for certification. Supervision by a professional with expertise and educational and/or professional background in the field is required. See additional details and resources below.

Requirements to be an Internship Supervisor

To be eligible to supervise interns, a CCLS must:

  • Maintain professional child life certification throughout the supervisory period
  • Have a minimum of 4,000 hours of paid child life clinical experience prior to the start of the supervisory period
  • Take responsibility for the educational development and guidance of the candidate in the clinical setting
